Château de Villette is one of my favourite wedding venues near Paris. It has all you need for a luxurious open-air celebration including seven suites and seven bedrooms for your immediate family, swimming pool for the day-after party, elegant ballroom in case of the rain, amazing park with two lakes and monumental fountain.
Chateau de Villette is located in one-hour driving distance away from Paris, which makes it a perfect location for a destination wedding in France.
History & facts
Built in the middle of the 17th century by a French ambassador in Venise, château de Villette is a very elegant and feminine property whose delicacy is highlighted by the park with a sophisticated landscape design.
The place is still very new on the market. It has recently been renovated by its new owners that gave a place its original splendour and magnificence.
Contrary to some other castles of the region, at château de Villette weddings do not follow one another at a crazy pace. “Less is more” attitude of the venue owners guarantees you the excellent customer service and careful attention to your wedding.
Chateau de Villette remains a little gem that still needs to be discovered by an international clientele. Once you visit the venue though, you will fall in love with it immediately and irrevocably.
No wonder that the castle has been chosen as a backdrop for various films and fashion photoshoots. You can, for instance, see château de Villette in the Dynasty series and (!) Da Vinci code (clickable titles).
Chateau de Villette – wedding style
If you are planning a romantic celebration with regal flair, chateau de Villette is a place to be for you!
It is a perfect backdrop for both, black-tie weddings and relaxed luxury receptions. You can create a very glamourous decor with loads of fine flowers and gold accents that will complement the castle’s ambience. Or, you can opt for a more decontracted look and feel by using scented garden flowers and fresh fruits and berries in your decor.
Chateau de Villette is definitely a luxury wedding venue, but you can interpret its splendour in different ways to create different experiences.
Want to see how your wedding reception can look like in Château de Villette? Have a look at this editorial me and my team shoot there recently!
If you decide to book Chateau de Villette for your destination wedding in France, you will be the sole master of the place and will enjoy flexible installation and party hours. It is best to rent the venue for the whole weekend to enjoy a laid-back pool after-party the day after the wedding.
The ideal gust number will be situated around 60-70 people, but chateau de Villette can also welcome intimate wedding with twenty guests or even an elopement for two. Gentlemen wishing to propose in style are very welcome too!
Despite (or maybe because of?) its splendour, chateau de Villette is very cosy and feels like home. A wedding weekend here will become an unforgettable event that people will be talking about for ages!
Start your celebration with a welcome drink event on the paved forecourt of the castle. Create a cool and cosy ambience with lounge music and signature cocktails for your guests to get the foretaste of the great party.
Plan the main event on the backside of the chateau. You and your guests will enjoy the splendid view of the castle, as well as the pleasant freshness coming from the monumental fountain on the far side of the property. The after-wedding brunch can take place in the beautiful Orangerie or near the swimming pool.
There are numerous options available and the final amount will depend on the factors like guest count, rental duration, whether you need rooms or not and whether you want to have full access to the property. For one-day wedding celebration without accommodation, one should budget between 10k€ and 18k€. A very solid security deposit is required (up to 35k€ and more under certain circumstances) to book the chateau. The amount is explained by the delicacy of the décor, as the place possesses thousands of objects whose value is difficult to estimate.
In order to minimise risks, some couples prefer renting the venue without getting the full access to certain rooms (like the library or a salon).
If you are interested in organising your wedding reception in the chateau de Villette, please feel free to send me a message specifying your ideal date or period, approximate guest number and budget.
It will be my pleasure to help you to plan your destination wedding in France!
