A Rooftop Wedding In Paris’ Hotel Marignan

Rooftop wedding in Paris

I have discovered Hotel Marignan via my client, who wanted to have an intimate rooftop wedding there. It is a 5-star hotel located near the Champs Elysées, and the terrace of their suite has one of the most beautiful views in Paris.

What I love about this place (apart from the stunning view, bien sûr), is that their terrace is quite spacious compared to some other venues. If you want to have a rooftop cocktail party or a vows exchange ceremony, Hotel Marignan is a great venue for that!

The wow-effect on your guests is guaranteed, especially if you invest in quality floral decoration. The cherry on the cake? The Eiffel tower sparkles every hour after the dark…

Planning your wedding in hotel Marignan

The terrace you can see on the photo above is the part of their Suite Marignan Eiffel and it measures 50m² (538 sq feet). It is perfect for intimate dinner for around 12-16 guests or a  small ceremony and/or standing cocktail for around 25 guests. As the terrace is not protected against the rain, the guest count for dinner shall remain low to be able to host it indoors, in the suite, if necessary. To make it possible, the bedroom is transformed into a dining room, which means that you can’t stay over in the suite for the night, as the bed will be removed.

The style of the suite and other rooms in the hotel is very Scandinavian and minimalistic. It is all beige, grey and with some impressive wooden panels and doors. Hotel Marignan doesn’t really feel very Parisian when you are in, here you won’t find any gold-framed mirrors, 18th-century chimneys or traditional French parquet. The aesthetics of their rooms are bold and modern with some out-of-town feeling to them.

This is probably the only backdrop of this place, as having dinner in the room will change the experience completely. It makes sense to plan the decoration accordingly so that it could accommodate plan A and plan B.

In the case of the rain, the ceremony is still likely to take place on the terrace, but with umbrellas. I would recommend having a standing ceremony, in that case, and using transparent umbrellas that are easy to find in Parisian souvenir shops.

As it is a hotel, there are certain restrictions. For example, you can’t have a dancing party there and you shall keep the music to a minimum after around 11 pm. You can, of course, have a musician playing live during the ceremony, cocktail, and dinner, or you can opt for lounge music as background.

If you wish to continue the party after 11 pm, I would recommend going to one of the Parisian nightclubs.

Food & drinks

The service at the hotel Marignan is impeccable, and their events team is very efficient and friendly. Their chefs are doing a very good job too.

The celebratory menu is identical to the menu offered in its main restaurant, Limon, so feel free to consult it on the hotel’s website.

The menu is seasonal and varies from season to season, but it generally incorporates French classics and international bestsellers. The food is very good, but it is not high gastronomy and you can find Cesar salad or burger on the menu.

You can bring your own wedding cake if you want, which is amazing.

There is a list of wines and champagnes offered by the hotel, but you can’t bring your own alcohol (an important cork fee applies). That being said, unless there is a particular cuvé you love, wines proposed by Marignan’s sommelier are very good.

For cocktail lovers, there is a lovely selection of classic cocktails and a team of experienced and creative bartenders for signature creations. I am sure you will enjoy tasting cocktails in their bar before approving your final recipe.

Logistics

Chairs for your ceremony and dinner shall be ordered with an external vendor, and it is up to you to see if you want to use the hotel’s tableware. At the images you see here, blue glasses and cutlery have been ordered with an external supplier.

The greenery on the terrace can’t be removed from there, so it is important to plan the decor accordingly.

How much does it cost to get married in Marignan Hotel?

Expect something around 6k€ based on 10 people for rental and food and drinks package. For the impressive decor of the ceremony, the place, and the dining table, I would recommend budgeting around 3-4k€.

Other events

You want to propose in style or to say “I love you” in the extraordinary Parisian setting? Or maybe you would like to celebrate a special occasion like your wedding anniversary or an elopement? I am sure you will impress your partner with a surprise dinner on this terrace.
